Overview

NCEE has been a pivotal force in U.S. education improvement for over 30 years. We study the highest-performing and fastest-improving education systems and the policies guiding them to understand what they do, how they do it, and the context & challenges they face. We use that evidence base to help educators and policymakers build systems that meet the needs of all learners—and rise to the challenge of our collective future. Focus areas include:

• Preparing for the future of work and aligning curriculum to an evolving global economy

• Strengthening instructional leadership by training principals and superintendents

• Advocating for teacher professionalization models and career ladders that treat teaching as a high-status, clinical profession similar to medicine or law

• Helping districts design coherence instructional systems
